Hibiscus Syrup

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups of the hibiscus  leaves (THE ADOM COMPANY)
  • Approximately 3 cups of water
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice (optional).

Preparation:

Step 1
Heat water to a boil.  Wash and add THE ADOM HIBISCUS leaves to water, then let them steep for 30 to 60 minutes.
Step 2
Pour the hibiscus juice through a sieve and return it to the pot with the heat on. Add the sugar and bring the mixture to a slow boil over medium heat, stirring every so often, until the bubbles get bigger.
Step 3
If you want to use it, immediately take the syrup off the heat and let it cool a bit before stirring in the vanilla and lemon juice, if you want to. You can store it in the fridge or use it right away if you need to.
